More than just a Club…

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As a prospective new member, or someone just seeking more details before making a commitment, please find below a selection of commonly asked questions about the Club.

General

What are the opening hours of the Club?

The Club is open daily, seven days a week from 0800 until 2200.

Occasionally the courts are pre-booked for matches, tournaments and coaching sessions, but members are advised well in advance of the dates.

How do I get into the Club?

All members are issued with  an electronic fob for the Courts and Clubhouse. A £10.00 deposit is required for the fob, which is refundable if you decide not to renew your membership, and arrange for its return. The deposit is forfeited if you lose your fob and require a replacement.

How do I book a court?

Court bookings are made online. When your membership is approved, you will be given details of how to create your own free account with our booking system.

Can I hire equipment?

Equipment is not available for hire from the club.

I have further questions about my membership. Who do I contact?

Please direct all enquiries regarding membership, both new and existing, to the Membership Secretary on 01580-713461. Alternatively you can send an email to paul_tully@tiscali.co.uk

Can I bring a guest to the Club?

Guests who wish to use the facilities will be charged  £1.00 during the week and £2.00 at week-ends. Members must sign in their guests in the Visitors sheet in the Clubhouse. Members are not permitted to sign in the same guest more than three times in a year although dispensation can be given to visiting relatives of family members.

Is there a dress code for the courts?

There is no dress code. Members can wear anything they wish (within reason). All we ask is that only soft-soled shoes be worn on court, and preferably not black soles, as this colour tends to  leave marks on the surface.

I’m not sure about joining. Can I visit the Club to look around?

You are very welcome to come along to one of our Clubnights on a Wednesday evening to see for yourself. Just contact the Membership Secretary who will arrange for you to be met on a Wednesday evening of your choice by one of the organisers, who will gladly show you around and answer your queries.

Does my tennis ability require to be of a certain standard before I can join?

Anyone of any age and ability is welcome to become a member. There is no “playing-in” required.
